Geoservice Ingeniería was characterized for providing detailed innovative designs, geological and geotechnical studies, during the last 18 years and due to the growth of the mining sector, Geoservice Ingeniería was responsible for developing tailings dams and hydraulic works projects for mining companies located in the north, central and south part of the Peru.

On the other hand, Geoservice Ingenieriia has developed projects of dams, tunnels, canals and convex ancillary works for energy, irrigation and sanitation sectors.

The tailings dam No. 6 Mahr Tunel has an elevation approved project to 4,032m. Currently, this dam is located at an elevation of 4,016.6m occupying an area of ​​48,817.8 m2. Whereas the concentrator operation requires a place where to keep depositing tailings being generated, Volcan company has prepared engineering studies required for regrowth of the tailing deposit from the boundary elevation of 4,032 m to 4,036 m.

With this regrowth, the final area occupied by the tailings deposit No. 6 will be 112,335 m2, 0.11 ha bigger than the related tailings dam at an elevation of 4,032 m, which represents 0.92% of the total area of the sludge .

Preparation of the Modification of Mine Closure Plan (MMCP) Mallay mining unit.

On January 6th 2012, peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mining approved the Modification of the Environmental Impact Assessment for project Mallay hence the need to execute the MMCP. Executed MMCP comprises Mallay and Fortuna areas. Covered areas are temporal and progressive closure, social programs and final closing. Dismantling, demolition, physical, geochemical and hydrological stabilisation as well as revegetation are covered on MMCP.

According to directorial resolution Nº138-2013-MEM/AAM given on May 13rd 2013, the Modification of Mine Closure Plan was approved by Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines.

The 1st amendment to the mine closure plan (MCP) aims to reschedule the original MCP schedule of Orcopampa mining unit referring only to activities of progressive closure, mainly due to the need of removal and transportation of tailings deposit contained in No.3 dam to the temporary No.2 dam.

The 1st MCP modification states that the tailings contained in the deposit No.3 shall be transported to dam No.2 for temporary storage considering a 4.5 months at a production rate of 8,000 tpd. Additionally, the tailings temporarily stored on No.2 dam will be transferred to the tailings dam No.4 in compliance with mine closure plan at a rate of 1,500 tpd production within a 22 months plan between September 2011 and July 2013.

According to directorial resolution Nº283-2011-MEM-AAM given on September 09th 2011, the 1st modification of the mining closure plan for Orcopampa mining unit was approved meeting the technical requirements for the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines.

This project is part of the set of solutions proposed in the Integral Study of Reservoir Tablachaca and includes the reconstruction of slope protection at Dam Tablachaca Dam by placing 63,706 tonnes of rockfill, the works shall not be interrupting the operation of the hydroelectric power-generator Mantaro Complex and shall be executed at full reservoir.

Work completed on May 6, 2013 with an aggregate of 63,706 tonnes of rock placed.

The Project considers riverine designs defences along 25km of Ilabaya river in Tacna Peruvian state. Riverine defences works shall protect the banks with rip rap and concrete retaining walls. In addition, the project considers the structural design of a bridge crossing the river Ilabaya.

The objective of these studies is to prevent that extraordinary floods occurring in river flood Ilabaya affecting agricultural land adjacent to the river.

Derivation Huascacocha - Rímac, Junin, Peru

Detailed Environmental Impact Assessment (DEIA) includes project description considering Huascacocha earth dam, piping systems, pumping station and transmission lines.

Description of environmental and social baseline, identifycation of environmental impacts, vulnerability of the project area and the respective environmental management plan were also analysed.

According to directorial resolution Nº009-2010-VIVIENDA/VMCS-DNS given on Jan 29th 2010, the detailed Environmental Impact Assessment (EIAD) of Derivation Huascacocha - Rimac.project was approved by Peruvian Ministry of housing and construction.

Atacocha mine

Atacocha mine, Peru

Supervision of construction of dams ensuring static and seismic stability of tailings deposit. Deliverables include monthly monitoring reports, monitoring final report and report of settlement work.

The main construction works include 04 earth dams, 03 respective vessels and 03 reinforced concrete retaining walls. The maximum height of each of the 04 dams varies between 22m and 28m with respective crown levels varying between 3,467 and 3,451 meters above sea level. The respective concrete retaining walls have an overall length of 705m together.

In additionally to the construction of dams, it was necessary to derive the waters of the Huallaga river through a tunnel of about 1km in length.
